    Temperature. Roasting is usually at a higher temp than baking.

    Most baking is 375 degrees or lower. Roasting temps usually start at 400 degrees.
    For the most part, ham is a cured meat, only needing to be “finish cooked” or heated through.
    A roast of beef, usually starts raw and needs full cooking. Roasting also makes a nice browning or crust.
