I do try to avoid using it. Don’t want them taking it away from me. Plus when loaded not supposed to unhook.

They'll never bring it back with the AWG-9 radar like it originally came with. Was the most powerful radar ever put in any aircraft.

It fried a lot of people. Pilots and support personnel like me.

All kinds of dudes are getting testicular and esophageal cancer.

Sorry for the late reply, long day.
Yeah, it is designed for use on soft ground. A lot of the drilling up here (northwest part of the communist country to the north) in winter is on land that is inaccessible during summer months, the roads and leases are frozen in weeks before the equipment is moved in. But when it starts to melt, it gets too soft for trucks to get in and out with the loads. Most rigs that drill in these locations are 40-50 loads or more, when the thaw is on trucks destroy the access in a hurry and it turns into a stuckfest with dozers dragging everything through the mud. We use beasts like that thing to tear out the rig, and get the loads out to better ground for the trucks to load them up. The most common soft ground units we use are called Commanders, giant floater tire equipped articulating trucks. The unit in the photo is called a Cossack, one guy's idea of something new to try. The first design failed miserably, but these guys bought it cheap and figure they can make it work.

Commander, we have 6 of these in the fleet. We also have some articulated tracked machines, pretty cool stuff.

Did I mention the mud? I hate this time of year with a passion.
