I wonder why ford didn’t choose the dt360. It was a solid platform. Inline 6 with a p-pump just like Cummins. Capable of the same power as the 7.3

 

None of the designers ever had to haul a load of Symons forms over the old horse shoe bend grade, Tamarack grade, White Bird grade or the Clearwater would be my guess
