Try rubbing alcohol. It works on desks. But I don't think it will work on wood.

Drank that stuff in high school years.Then when I got my low rider, when I would be hitting the switches, that bottle would pour out all its contents in 1/2 second.

 

Here's the problem. Idiot wrecked the top sheet. Like new skis for $30. Was hoping to improve their appearance.

 

Maybe some mineral oil??

 

I'd take off the gear, sand it down and put a darker finish on it. And, again, bleach will take a lot of it off once you sand it down.
Most of that graffiti is on top of the original finish. It should come right off. But you'll need to put another coat or two of poly after you've cleaned it up.

Fire from a little hand torch. Liquify the marker, rubbing alcohol 71& not 90, sand lightly. Try not to burn yourself but if you do "you can't brag 'til the skin bubbles."
