Yes , and the amount that they were saying was escaping is crazy.
They also said it smells really bad at a fraction of what this was being measured at. So that would make it I would think impossible to not say "Lets get out of here" (I said that)
Another thing, I know of not one soul in the PNW that uses natural gas at all. If they want flames it is propane The whole article seemed off to me. But I am one of those that don't blindly believe. I am not accusing anyone, but I would be doing some investigation if it were someone I knew,
Here a bit of what was said...
Inside the house, the carbon monoxide monitor registered 2,000 ppm, the highest the police chief has ever encountered. Before that, he’d been on scenes with as many as 500 or 600 ppm, he said.
Blumenshine confirmed that the three people appeared to have been deceased before responders’ first attempt to go inside, and that momentary delay did not make the difference between life and death for them.
Blumenshine, who sounded deeply saddened at the tragedy, extended his condolences to the family of the deceased.
Both Blumenshine and Hurtado said they’re planning a public awareness campaign for early next week about ways to prevent or detect carbon monoxide leaks and check new heating elements.

I have a neighbor that has tried it, for her it did not work (she's 92), Her daughter also did it and it did work for her(probably mid 60's) so I don't think what someone else has done may answer this question, may just be a try and see situation.
I hope you can find an answer though. Best of luck in the search. I will ask my wife and daughter (daughter works the med field) and see if they have any suggestions.Dale thompson, Feedman, IH9300SBA and 9 others Thank this. -
