I am not up enough on any transmissions in recent years. But, I got a little exp with an Allison in an Army 2.5 once. My concept then was it was strong, locked up tight, but hard/jerky. I feel like the major mfgr have come a long way in all its levels of function

Like anything; it is what you buy for a job, that it is designed/engineered for. And like women and liquor..There will be preferences, some based on actual experience and some on what THEY said it was like. So, try out the options and settle on what you like and feels good to you in your application.
