Dude called Dell Helpline on night watch. Said my monitor just went blank on my new computer setup.
Help said just reach up under behind and shake the connections, probably loose...
It is so dark under there, can't see any connections.
Help says; just feel, you will grasp.
OK, felt, shook, no change.
Well, try plugging it into another wall socket, could be that...
Socket is across the room, and power went off, so can't see to go over and change.

At least you get to work with a county person on the electric.

Out here the State does the electric inspections. County does everything else. Average response for call out goes from 48 hours to 2 weeks or more.

I've been warned by the contractor that assembled the house to read up on trespass laws so that I can cycle through state inspectors till I find one that is not a college edumacaated douche. Seems the one that has the local region hates owner wired and/or non-union. Tends to nitpick to their perceived version of code but when challenged gets belligerent and huffy when their incompetence is pointed out. Also pointed out she going to be extra BTCHY when most of the runs are under the house and IT's to rotund to fit down the crawl space hatch or through the openings in the cripple walls down there.

They are pretty easy going. Generally come out the next day after you call them. I called yesterday at 2:30 and he was here by 10 am

Most Municipalities around here don't do Electrical Inspections any longer, they're all done by 3rd Party Private Companies
