And from what I hear, some are just as cold as that one.

 

The pump you have is called a jet pump in my neck of the woods, and I didn't realize people still used them for house water. Which is beside the point. About a month ago my wife bought a gadget called Freezemiser that I put on water troughs for sheep to keep pipes and water from freezing. Right after I put them on we had some 14 degree nights, and when I went out the next morning the sheep had water and no busted pipes. The downside was it did run the trough over and made a little mess of things in that respect, but it beats fixing a busted water line and thawing water out. A woman that lives about 10 miles away hooks one to her water hose and puts it on her yard, and swears by it. I don't buy or sell them so this is just food for thought.

 

That's almost as ugly as a Dart. In no way is this meant to be offensive to an esteemed member of this thread who had a dog that mistook his Dart for a rolling outhouse. His identity will remain under lock and key on my end. I got your back Elmer.
