When I was with LStar many years ago, I was told to call in and tell them I was out of service for a few days and they wouldn't call me for anything. I was told to do that when I first started by my advisor or whatever her title was.

Dave must be a true company man. I would of told them to pound sand if I was off duty and at the house.

Drug testing - We are often out of cell phone range all week. We go through (and get the privilege of PAYING TO PROVE OUR INNOCENCE) CCMI through OOIDA. They will call up my wife and tell her who is in the barrel this time (usually it's me it seems), and then we/she has two weeks to find a chance for whomever's turn it is to get in and test. Lately it seems that we always have to do an alcohol test as well. Now there's no law against drinking, so if you are off duty, and especially if you are doing a reset, you should be able to decline a test because you cannot legally drive to the testing facility. We haven't had to push the issue yet, but I am curious how it will work out. My wife usually calls me to ask when so and so will be back in town, or when will it be the most convenient.

I get that there was, and maybe still is a need for some sort of control for CDL drivers, but this stuff and the stupid clearing house is a bunch of crap that I have to pay for. Pisses me off!
