Go find a damsel of the female persuasion and ask her out to dinner. What could go wrong, other than the OM getting offended, but she'll get over it. Maybe you can find a cat lady! Which ever way you go, remember those that gave all tomorrow and enjoy the day!

Maybe @tramm01 knows better, but I spent a summer in the Snake River canyon downstream from the Perrine bridge which is access to Twin Falls. We were building settling ponds for Universal Frozen Foods. Basalt canyon, and pretty hot and dry. Never saw a rattle snake down there but quite a few king snakes. Some of the guys said that king snakes would eat the rattlers, so don't kill the king snakes. Not sure how true any of this is.

It’s true. King snakes do eat other snakes

Well — I’d like to pretend that I know the difference between the snakes of the world, but the hard truth is the only good snake is a dead one

I’m not a fan either. I will mostly let them be on their merry way. Except once they find the eggs, you have to kill them. Simply removing them does no good. Once they find the kitchen they will be back about every week.

Well, since as far as I know, rattlers are the only venomous snakes we have, and since rattlers have a tell tail to help identify them, I'm willing to give the rest the benefit of the doubt, especially if they eat the mice that would otherwise reside in our equipment!

Erosion mat is deadly to them. I was weed eating the side of the shop. I was just going to leave it there and let nature take its course. There were two snakes tangled up in it. They got their head stuck in the netting and couldn’t get out. I cut them loose and took them across the street. They were beginning to stink

They do eat the rattlers. That's why they're King.

I don’t go looking for a fight, but I don’t know enough about them to take a chance— Adam F’d up and listened to one and it’s been downhill ever since
