I guess I wasn't as rested as I thought I was......I fell asleep in the seat while waiting for the pretrip clock to run out.

Well, a log edit, and time to go.

Well, $3200 a month ain't nothing to sneeze at, and your wife might be able to get a chunk of change too if she's old enough.
My take is to manage/eliminate debt. When I sold my big truck I had enough to pay off my mortgage. Then I sold my Silverado and had enough left over to pay off The Hazuls car and pay cash for what I have now. It's not a great car, but it's a good car. 2009 4wd Ford escape with 70k miles on it....$7k out the door. I rarely drive it, 5k miles in 2 years, but it's good to have if you need it.

Bottom line is, don't owe nobody nothing. Sometimes it's a matter of seeing what you can do without.

Take it bank it. Work on.. above/below the table. You wait, get a little more, then shortly die.
Match the would have been against where you will be on the later scenario, Take it. All ya'll wont live to be 89.

Got a little bit left on the house and the new buggy will be free and clear at the end of the year and that’s it for us

That's solid advice. We set ourselves up pre-retirement. Small overhead, steady monthly income/union, ss,ect. Everything paid for. Wife drives a Ford escape, good little town car. My pt job gives me pocket change & get out of the house.
