What if it Snows?

I know right?!... I've been over Elk Mtn. when you couldnt see from 1 reflector to the next, had to ride the #### rumble strips to stay on the road, 4 inches of fresh powder on top of skating rink ice, wind blowing 50+ filling tire tracks almost as fast as I can make them, going 30 mph or less. Yeah I was #### glad to see Rawlins, but it didnt shut me down!!!

Why drive when its like that some ask??? Because I knew I could take it slow through the night when all the idiots were sleeping, and get past the bad parts before they shut the road down for 2 days. And thats exactly what happened, I got past it and they closed that section of road for nearly 2 days to clean up all the crashes that happened when the idiots hit the road the morning after I went through.

 

I tried to beat it tonight myself. But of course they shut it down before i could. I prefer to beat the idiots. But now im im waiting for the green light with them. So thisll be fun.

 

I know that place your parked... Good place to wait out a closure provided you have enough fuel, food and water to wait it out.

 

Yeah, i i filled the tanks in Sydney NE, and im well stocked. Ill be fine.

I was chaining up one year up there & a freightshaker went by & throwed up a big chunk of ice . hit me in back & face planted me in the snow. Some more drivers helped me back in the truck .
Few minutes later they took chain sign's down. The other drivers took what chains I had on back off & hung in the chain rack for me.

 

Tell me about it. There’s still small moments where I’m like “WTF!” I just laugh, feel like an idiot and figure it out.
