    It is what is called Hobson's choice.
    A Hobson's choice is a situation where someone is presented with what appears to be a choice, but there is actually only one real option available, often due to an unfavorable consequence for choosing otherwise. The term originated with Thomas Hobson, a livery stable owner in Cambridge who offered customers the choice of the horse nearest the door or none at all.

    The blue sea or the hard rock...
    Neither option offers any relief... You are gonna pee your pant or get up and leave...

    I usually hate food odors in the house, but the misses just did up something that now has my living room smelling like the funnel cake stand on the boardwalk down in Ocean City. That I can deal with. :)
