I used to wonder why those police keep those guns sticking out of their vehicle windows like that...

Now I know.. it's because there's not enough space inside of the vehicle...

    Can't sleep.
Need to be 2 AM on Nov 29 in Farr West, UT. Currently I'm in Paducah, KY. Try out luck in WY or go down I-40 to 491in NM?

That was what I did with our Camino to Maryland. I think it was about 1500 miles on the ground even though it's around 1200 map miles... If I needed to I could run 300 on a tank, by why push ones luck.

It was a two day one way trip and another three back with that white line fever towards Arkansas. You would think I can run a hell of alot further than that but having to pull up 40 minutes from the house at the hotel for one more night for safety knowing the small roads we have to use to get there up into the hills is not a place for white line fever.

I dislike car trips. Too plushy and sleep inducing. Give me a screaming old iron. The next one will be interesting as the back of the old vehicle is a space made for a sleeper more or less now. Dispose of the hotels as a cost.

As a side note for tonight Memphis is pending a pretty good and wet sideways rain and tornado inducted wake up calls later on.

I would run across I-40. Probably worse road conditions when you start getting close to UT but with less traffic than going through WY. And WY likes to shut things down nowadays. Going through WY is probably better for fuel at the risk of them shutting it down because someone forgot to turn off cruise-control...

I-80 is "better" but I-40 and up is more reliable. IMO

The weather guessers have things getting better east of Denver in the next 18 hours. Storm will track more north, head into Michigan. The greater Salt Lake area has snow for Wednesday to Friday, 1 to 3 inches per 24 hours.
