I knew a guy that reacted terribly to poison ivy. Someone told him if you put a leaf in a sandwich and eat it like lettuce, you won’t get it for almost a year. He did it for several years, and said it worked. Didn’t get it done one year, got into some, and said he broke out head to toe, every square inch of his body.

    Cheapest/best overall treatment.

You get it on you, and it spread pretty bad...
Get you a bar of Octagon soap...
Run a big tub of warm bath water...
Get in the tub; submerge, scratch if you want...
Rub the bar of soap all over yourself, heavily on obviously affected areas..
    (May burn a little...)
    Repeat for about 3 days...

    XTRAS>>>
And do not rub the hunting dogs as the come it, just a lite pat on the heard.
Do not stand in the smoke off the fire where you are burning limbs with it on them

Octagon soap, originally produced by Colgate, is a versatile, all-purpose lye soap known for its strong cleaning power, particularly effective against grease and grime. While primarily used for laundry and dishes, it's also gentle enough for handwashing, and can even be used to treat poison ivy or remove stains from clothing.

Now that sounds like an old school way of doing it, as far as effectiveness I'm just going to take your word for it,.
Kinda like the only time I told dad's mom to screw off, as she was trying to put a spoon full of Vicks in my mouth for a head cold.

Yes, but then there are inedible plants. Way back a Boy Scout told me that cause he had their handbook...
It even told about splinting broken legs and how to twist a tourniquet to stop bleeding. Found them to be true,
so just apply it to the plants...

That car was at a very high rate of speed at impact.

I wonder if it was another vehicle failure, especially with no skid marks.

I have, several times by mistake. Then got the little bottle and the juice. Up until I was sa in 70's did the treatment every spring.

My first serious go around with it; resulting in my getting the antidote, was a new house in Starkville. MS. Green Oaks subdivision.
Nice, developer only cut cleared the house pad, left all nice trees. You marked and he came back and removed. Nice, shady.
A big ole Bo Dock (Bois de Arc)was left, and it had this intriguing "grapevine" winding up thru it. 4 inch diameter in some sections.
I did not mind the Bo Dock, but was removing the vine. So, chop a gash, move up a foot, chop another, and hand pull that loose .
Clung like velcro, but I got it out. Lotta sweat in hot summer. Wipe sweat, chop. Done. In house; clean up in shower, scratch nuts.
2 days later, eat up all over with it, eyebrows even. Doctor and ointment and agony and isolating from wife till clear...

Office manager of a competing loan company there, and a bass fisherman better than Bill Dance could aspire to be was laughing.
And he told me about the Rhus Tox formula. Said he had gotten it from a sheriff who had to lay out to catch moonshiners..
He offered to go out and find some; pluck the leaves, and stand in front of me and crush them barehanded, for a $100 bet.
