DOT was going nuts on I80 yesterday with ice melt. It was 30f. Perfect for clear (Black) ice. Plenty of trailer signs telling drivers to not use cruise control.
It’s looking about the same today.

I am full on plotting and scheming.

I’m in San Diego and I’ll be driving north later. I will be driving by the greatest fish taco place on the planet.

$.99 no limit, they’re giant, and they’re open 24 hours.

No possible way to keep my license If I try to get there.

At 7am will begin calling my friends to see which one of them wants 5 fish tacos if they bring them to me.

Knowing my idiot friends I’ve got about 80% chance of success. 10% is one of them sending their kid to get them for me and bringing the rest home. The other 10% is them telling me to go #### myself.

On my side... is well ...amazing fish tacos. Also on my side is it’s been raining and all the runoff makes the ocean a pretty nasty place for the next 48 hours. These means they can’t hide from their wives by going for a surf. I might be the elixir of their freedom.

I’m pretty hopeful. If I pull this off I’ll be gloating in here. If I don’t I’ll just cry

Not surprising or anything new either. They will close the Grapevine, Tehachapi and Cajon in a minute when it gets snow or ice. CHP once said it was because most of the Socal drivers couldn't drive in it. I saw some people that wrecked or slid into a ditch get interviewed on tv. When asked why they were out in the snow, some had driven 50+ miles to care there because "I just wanted to see what it's like to drive in the snow" I guess they found out.
