Refer to your prior post being near Amarillo...
Only place in the Continental U S; in any season of the year, you may come in EB, dry sunny, get rain, fog, sleet, snow,or a blue norther within 5 miles of exiting on EB...

Welcome to the life of a city dweller..... And why I choose not to live in one.

Paragraph 4 : "If Proposition Q, the ballot item for the tax rate election, passes, it will increase the property tax rate to around 57 cents for every $100 of property value, an approximate 20% increase from last year’s (city) property tax rate. The proposed rate was 5 cents higher than the state limit, which is what triggered the tax rate election in November."

and from paragraph 1: raise property taxes by $300 per year for the average homeowner.

And then a link to the generic property tax details if you want to do a deep dive on this bureaucratic nightmare, of special note is FAQ 2.
The TLDR version being: The city property tax is a very small piece of the property tax bill. Austin residents also pay taxes to the county, for the public schools, and a bunch of other special assessments.
