What if it Snows?

@Dave_in_AZ I’m no parson, but I do believe that God is good all the time, sometimes are just harder to believe than others. He never promised only good times, but he DID promise to help through bad times. Sometimes, we have nothing to go on but faith, and Satan knows it, so guess where he attacks? Faith. Satan doesn’t care how he can get a soul to destruction, all he wants is to get them to where life has no meaning, everything is foggy, God seems far away and quiet, and that’s when he moves in and whispers that God doesn’t care. I personally believe we hamper what the Almighty can do by not having enough faith in Him and His plan. I type that, speaking for myself. I haven’t had all easy street, but we’ve always landed feet down. And the times life was blackest for me, was when I was furthest from God. Here’s part of a song I learned to love some years ago when I was (if I’m reading you correctly) where you are now. Can’t remember who sang it, Poet Voices maybe? “With just a whispered “Peace be still”, He can settle every sea, but it doesn’t mean He will, sometimes He holds us close, and let’s the wind and waves go wild, Sometimes He calms the storm, and other times, He calms His child.” You’ve had some misfortunes in the last year with breakdowns, some family drama, etc, maybe it’s time to take a long vacation with no phone, just you and nature. It’s hunting season, that’s about the best therapy you can get! Above all, never forget we can’t see the long term picture like God can. We see the trouble we are facing “right now”. He sees eternity. Discouragement is real, I know this firsthand, but there are better days coming!

 

. What sparked the change of heart? The sermon or a passage that hit extra hard? Interaction with Parrish members gone badly? Keeping faith is hard sometime the tests are cruel. The stoic man has a hard path but it is its own reward to the faithful.
