My big wake up call was Back in January, I worked out a big plan. I was gonna go on a water fast and after about 25 days of the water fast I went to the doctor and I thought my A1c was just gonna be perfect and everything else and it was not. I was still in the high tens. Doctor put me on a continuous glucose monitor so I can look on my phone and see what my blood sugar is and that has been a huge game changer for me. My diet now is simply no sugar no bread, no pasta, no rice and no potatoes and it goes without saying no alcohol. My A1C now at 5.6 When I wake up in the morning, my glucose level is about 100 sometimes as low as 90 but always within that range. I eat the same breakfast every day @ 5:30 am two scoops of Whey protein In 28 ounces of cold brew coffee with 10 g of creatine two multivitamins and to B complex vitamins. At about 10 o’clock, I have what I jokingly call second breakfast that’s three eggs with some ham or bacon on top of hummus. For lunch salad with chicken Then for dinner, I do some more chicken or steak with veggies. Started this journey at 365 I’m down about 80 pounds so far this year but I’m still a big fat ###. But the most important thing is get one of those continuous glucose monitors and check it on your phone. It will make a game Out of keeping your blood glucose, low or within range

My wife and I always seem to miss the rain in the zone when we are there. I don't care if it's the Monsoon time or the occasional winter rainstorm. Another lost opportunity!!!

Spring mix and some add-ons, avocado, cherry tomatoes, celery and there’s chicken in there somewhere.

The OM and I don't drink at all. We do push ups instead.

Have you had a real physical lately?

My doctor, the first, supposed to be hour, is on mental health. First question: How much alcohol do you consume daily?

Answer: Zero. ( Looks of bewilderment from the P.A. )

"None? Zero? You drink no alcohol whatsoever?"

    Correct

That entire portion of the physical is basically wadded up, tossed in the can, and we get down to the real physiological part, saving 50 minutes.

It's that closely linked to depression and so many other things.

    So true. Alcohol magnifies
Depression and like you said other mental & physical issues. I'm a light consumer. Usually a beer with dinner & water. Hot drink occasionally when cold. I drink for the taste not the effect. PS-Dr. said I'm a young 73.
