Yesterday I went to my apartment in the city of Rio about 3 hrs south of here... Took a measure tape to measure all windows and all rooms... Will replace all windows cause they are all rotten and eaten by termites... will fix the floor and get it sanded and re-done with varnish, and will need to replace all electric circuit cause that is too old and it doesn't support more than one heavy duty appliance.
This is the street where the apartment is...
The building is one of those next to the hill in the background... when I was a teenager living there, used to climb up that hill.. went all the way to the top one time....

It's been wet here. Just mud season before the pending tornado season in a month or so. There will be a few sleepless nights watching them walk the earth like fingers from a doodling God randomly taking out towns while you hope you are not next.
Ive had so many here in the last 20 I almost don't give a #### anymore. I have two hidey holes either the FEMA bunker in town or where I am. And the rest don't really matter much. Except two people close to my heart. IF it ever bothered me that much I would never have stayed here.RidgeRunner731, WesternPlains, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
My apartment faces the hill... and this is part of the view from the windows...
There's a kids' playground down there...
Building is pretty old and needs a lot of repairs and maintenance and painting but nobody cares...
My windows are in bad shape, eaten by termites and rotten by the air coming from the sea nearby...
Will have them replaced with aluminum frame... that's what everybody is using there now...
My old bedroom....
The floor is all original... but some of the pieces are loose and need to be glued back, re-sealed, the whole floor sanded and re-done...
And the wires... and the whole electric circuit.. and a few other things here and there that need to be replaced.. and all the moldings the baseboards need to be repainted... I haven't even started spending money....
I will have to do a thorough cleaning in that apartment.. already figuring will borrow a cushion and a vaccum cleaner and other cleaning supplies and will have to sleep there for a few nights to do it by myself.. that kitchen and shower are disgusting....
Another view of it from the building hallway...
That building looks yuck! The hallways are dirty... the walls are filthy... Those are the 2 elevators in the hallway in front of my apartment door....

Some one here asked for pictures of street food vendors... here are some more I got that New Year's Eve night...
That is "espetinho"... several kinds of meat stuck in a stick and fried on that pan you see to the left... they also put cheese and other things.. I don't know cause I don't eat that... but it sells a lot...
This other one is boiled corn.. remember folks.. there's no sweet corn here.. the corn here is not sweet. and people boil it with salt and then smear some butter on it...
The next one is a guy selling "churros".. I don't know how to explain... would have to google... I know it is sweet but I never ate that cause it has lots of sugar... the guy puts the dough or whatever it is in a machine and it "spills" out some gooey thing that drops on hot oil and they kinda fry it and then puts something like a creamy sweet thing on it... Like I said, I never ate that... they also sell some potato chips with that....
This other one, the guy was frying the churros and also selling potato chips and other sweets.. I don't know what they are cause I eat none of that...
This next one, the guy was selling hot dogs.. he had all kinds of fresh sauces and condiments and fillings... you pick and choose what you want on your hot dog...
Lots of hungry folks that night.. I tell you...WesternPlains, lovesthedrive, kemosabi49 and 2 others Thank this. -
Aw yes, Dog, kraut, mustard and bit of onion and relish. Any roach coach here in the USA can whip that up in a jiffy.
Your apartment door jam shows it's been busted in at least once. Consider a special bar that pads to the floor on the bottom and forks directly under your door knob at the top made of steel. It will slow them down.
I don't particularly care for those elevators. They seem to be older technology of automatic cars.
Whats surprising is that your apartment is considered occupied etc. Half the stuff you wrote would not have met our codes to be rentable or occupied.WesternPlains, Rocks and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
In the end Im happy to put up the 870, I have gotten tired of the Range griping that the slugs are coming back to us on the floor off the backstop 100 yards down. Its rated for BMG so nothing gets past that end. And sometimes you get it coming back. You take a pause and listen for that skipping. Otherwise no skipping noise, drop fast.
