Very nice sir  i did an experiment myself this past week. First run did my usual 70 mph and ended up at 6.5 mpg ... back to the quarry to load then back to the same jobsite, only difference was i slowed to 60 mph top speed and babied it thru the mountains. 7.3 mpg ... couldnt believe it ... gonna be hard for me to go any faster than that now that ive seen the results.... Just sucks getting passed by prime

As long as you're making more money than Prime, don't worry about it. Speed is nothing. Income is everything.

Yep not to mention is easier on the truck overall , especially the driveline , pulling the mountains out here...

I guess you can't change your gearing either due to the hill climbing you do...

Not something i worried about right now... this last jobsite im going to some of the frickin mountains are so big. Going up loaded was in 3rd gear on my 13 speed.. Coming back down empty riding jake break in 5th..not to mention the switchbacks are insane , have to take up the entire road just to make some of the turns...hoping i dont have to go back to that place in the winter time lol

I think it'll go over 8 or close. That wind was unbelievable for a good part of the one leg.

This is basically what the last couple miles to the jobsite look like, switchbacks all pulling uphill like i mentioned... not fun at all especially if there is oncoming traffic , one of u has to back up... Screenshot_20200913-085522.png

Did a short stint with Williams Tank Lines (last century) thought I would have more hometime...not...anyway, they had the contract to supply the diesel to Squaw Valley it was a 2 day delivery. Get there anytime after 1800, set the rig in the designated spot and the lift mechanics would fit the warming blankets on each tank after you broke the units apart. They put you in a hotel room and feed you....you have to do the first half at 0200...chain up the truck, start up the mountain to the snow cat who then pulls you up tothe delivery tank. Off load truck tank 1500 gallons...slow process using their transfer pump, pull away from delivery port then the cat hooks up to your back to be your draggoing back down. 7 hours for first tank, back to room and breakfast, then after lunch, go to truckand transfer fuel from trailer to truck tank, back to bed for the second half at again 0200. Repeat yesterdays events...get backdown the hill, hook up trailer and go home....once was enough...back to OTR!
