. OMG I’m almost there. The biggest advantage to the guy with the magazine quality garage is he can tell you immediately nope don’t have anything to fix that. Messed up garage guy is sure he can find something to cure the problem.

Things still aren't quite fully stocked from the virus panic, but there's no shortage of Christmas stuff already.o_O

Speaking of ticking cars... Our almost 18 year old VW Passat station wagon started ticking. Threw a check engine light and after $1500 in repairs nothing changed. My wife asked what she should do. She checks oil, coolant, and air pressure. She only drives 3000 miles a year since I started driving so I told her... “it’s worth $1000 tops. Drive it till it dies.” Well it died on the Gaviota coast a couple days ago. RIP.
AAA towed it home where I figured I’ll look at it. I called a buddy who spins wrenches for a living. He went over and said it’s done. Motor ate itself.

    *sigh*

Good news is another friend who owns a garage in Santa Barbara heard it died. He sold us a Toyota Echo for her for $1800. Smoking deal and she’s happy that it’s a manual. My son is fascinated by the hand crank roll up windows. LOL
