I would try to fight it next time and would let you know how it worked. My problem is that I don’t work for miles but work for rate and I just worry if the broker could cut it or receiver would send the bill to my company and my company would simply charge me to stay out of troubles.

Good, whole pallets should be easy to get rid of. Free or for sale. Building things out of them is quite the hobby in some locations. My neighbor built a shed in his backyard outta pallets. A buddy did a fence.

I've yet to meet anyone who ships things out for living who wouldn't be happy to have free whole pallets. Ever near my sandbar an you have pallets, I'll come to you. LOL

I can always use pallets. For shipping or building.

I know there are companies that buy them, google will help you find them. They are out there though.

Far as the trash...toss it, burn it, make cute little knicknacks out of it.

Those irregular type pallets are pretty much worthless to sell. I'd throw them in the Receiver's parking lot if they refused them at the dock. It's their freight! OR if they were paying for the truck I would bill them for the clean up on the invoice.

I say however that product came to you is how youre taking it. This includes pallets and shrinkwrap. Theyre not gonna breakdown their pallets and have me worry about all the trash thats left behind.

That was unacceptable. I worked cold storage docks 20 years ago. We had a big trash bin on dock for our use as well as the drivers use. When bin is full we take to next room to the compactor which always has a 40yard dumpster strapped to it. After we off loaded the product, there would sometimes be trash left over like in your case. There was no questions asked when the driver would ask for a push broom. Take 5 minutes to sweep to end of trailer and to dispose of it in bins. Wasn’t tying up dock. All while doing this we would be finishing up paper work and checking last pallet. If driver didn’t want pallets we would take them.
What happened in your case? Do they not let drivers into trailer while in the dock these days?
