My road has an Axle Weight of 6.5 tons. I know the Tractor will work(barely), but what if I have a loaded trailer and close to home?

Will I be violating the law coming home with a trailer?

Yes. You can apply for a waiver with your local commission. But you may not get it.

Your tractor can do it without a problem.
Bobtail you will not have more than 10500 on the steers. And the drives will be lighter.
To take a trailer you will have to try what wiseguy said. Most likely you will not get it.

Better look into whether the bobtail will be allowed or not.

My road has no problem with a truck. Farm route on city street. But....

Local government ordinance prohibits commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs in the city unless making a delivery then leaving.

My road is all rural. Lived here 15 years and never noticed the weight limits until today..

What makes this worse is I have to traverse two counties to get home and the weight limit is in both counties.

Here in CA, if it has a weight restriction, its for thru traffic. If that road is your destination, piss on it...you gotta get home.

I live within a restricted area and I don't care because it's my job, I pay tax's, they can't keep me from my home and they can kiss my ### if they don't like it. So far nothing ever said.

    I agree with your post...

And I like your signature, lol. I always tell people I am an Aggregate Relocation Engineer, gets 'em stumped for the first bit!
