My road has an Axle Weight of 6.5 tons. I know the Tractor will work(barely), but what if I have a loaded trailer and close to home?
Will I be violating the law coming home with a trailer?
What if you live on a weight restricted road..

Yes. You can apply for a waiver with your local commission. But you may not get it.
-
Your tractor can do it without a problem.
Bobtail you will not have more than 10500 on the steers. And the drives will be lighter.
To take a trailer you will have to try what wiseguy said. Most likely you will not get it. -
Better look into whether the bobtail will be allowed or not.
My road has no problem with a truck. Farm route on city street. But....
Local government ordinance prohibits commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs in the city unless making a delivery then leaving. -
My road is all rural. Lived here 15 years and never noticed the weight limits until today..
What makes this worse is I have to traverse two counties to get home and the weight limit is in both counties. -
who are you trying to get hired by?
American Trucker -
Here in CA, if it has a weight restriction, its for thru traffic. If that road is your destination, piss on it...you gotta get home.
-
I live within a restricted area and I don't care because it's my job, I pay tax's, they can't keep me from my home and they can kiss my ### if they don't like it. So far nothing ever said.

I agree with your post...
And I like your signature, lol. I always tell people I am an Aggregate Relocation Engineer, gets 'em stumped for the first bit! -
