I have a Chocolate Lab that loves to ride in any vehicle. When I'm home and am just delivering or loading I take her along, knowing I'll in bring her home at the end of the day.
But that dog needs more daily exercise than I can give it. Mind you, a 2 or 3 mile walk every day would do both of us a lot of good.
What in your opinion is the best trucking dog?

I have a Valley Bulldog that loves to ride. When I go home on vacation she will sleep in the back and never move until we stop then go's back to sleep. I will never take her in the truck with me as dog hair and the smell of a dog in an enclosed place are nasty.

The only dog I like on a truck is on the hood of a Mack Truck.

Next to the "Werner trainer craps himself", this is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on this forum. I'm in tears from laughing so hard. Thank you man. -

Any high energy, intelligent dog would generally be a no,imo. You'd need one that doesn't require much exercise and doesn't get bored easily. Any kind of typical working breed would be a bad choice.
I love my dachshund. He's small and quiet but when he gets on a tear, he can be a nightmare.RockinChair Thanks this. -
I got quite a surprise the other day. I was walking into a truckstop. A dog leashed to a landing gear ran out to greet me. I didn't know he was even there till he jumped out. Luckily he was a friendly one just saying hi. Have seen dogs leashed out like that try to bite people. If I ever get bit because some guy leashed his dog under the trailer and wasnt there supervising, the cops better get there before Mr Dog Owner gets back and gets an introduction to my winch bar. I wouldn't hurt the dog...he likely didn't know better. Some of you dog owners need to be more responsible with your pet. If he is the slightest bit mean or aggressive, leave him at home, before some innocent person walking by gets bit. I shouldn't have to walk hunched over looking under every trailer I walk by to get safely to the building. And quit letting him poop and pee where people have to walk. Bad enough some drivers can't tinkle in the right places.
