    I agree with the others, you may as well buy your own truck, if you go his route. When I had my truck in the '90's, $1.00/mile was a decent pay for a load. ( fuel was a $1.09/gallon though)

    60/40 split on 1099 is common in expediting. Whether it's good or bad I dunno but probably depends mostly on who pays for what. Who buys new tires and pays for repairs are one thing? There would have to be a contract for sure, none of that "trust me driver" stuff. This must be a cargo van or some such smaller unit. There is no money in that segment except for a rare few. Any joker who can go buy an old uhaul van or Ford, Chevy, etc for little more than an ordinary small car payment can get in so virtually no money or skin to get in. Everyone thinks they can do it... for a buck a mile... personally I would pass on this one unless I had a LOT of knowledge about expediting in a small cargo van, which I know zilch about... ..and expediting in a big truck is my niche probably 50% of what I do is expedite.

    the pay scale is off, 2 methods of of pay I'm aware of is .. 1) 25% of gross / not incl. FSC 2) gross minus fuel & insurance split 50/50
