What is going on? No experience, clean record, but no hires

Navajo hires at 21. They have terminals across the USA.
They do hire recent CDL school grads if the school is 140 hrs. If it were me, and my school is a little shorter, I would apply anyway. The worst that could happen is application denied. You can apply online.

I gotta second what has been said about Stevens. They are a good training school. Could also try pride, and as much as I hate to say it. (And I do!!!) Cr england or swift just to get in 6 months xp so you can go somewhere else.

 

I was thinking that perhaps you could go to the local DES and maybe find some job counseling help. The reason folks aren't hiring you could be the way you are presenting yourself. Perhaps you have misspellings on your job applications or incorrect grammar. I don't know, but my thought is perhaps it is something in the way your are looking and applying that is sabotaging your chances and you may not even be aware of what it is. Perhaps you can find some sort of job counseling services that could help to figure that out. Just a thought and good luck to you.

 

Try D.M Bowman nice company set salary and good equipment . There ranked in the top 200 carriers in the US and are some what reasonable

 

Are you kidding? ?? Withwhat I've been seeing driving trucks nowadays I dont think appearance is an issue.
Most companies only care if you are breathing or not. As long as you can pass a drug test and are insurable. I do believe your age is the biggest holdup. Need to be 23 or over.

 

Try Schneider, Stevens Transport, Werner. LOTS of companies out there.

 

There has got to be something on your job application that is spooking them off. That's all they have to go on as you are not applying in person.
And you do not always have to have OTR experience to go local. I went from concrete mixer to rock bucket to flat bed, all local.
Pound the pavement, check out the company on the net, then go see them in person, with all your sheet in order and in a nice folder. Look professional.

 

Ah, No I was not kidding. It is realistically possible that what is keeping him from finding employment is something he is not aware of. Perhaps it is the age, perhaps not. Finding help to see if he is unintentionally creating a roadblock himself would seem a common sense idea to me. If it is his age that is causing a problem, perhaps getting help to tailoring his efforts at places where that will not be quite the roadblock could also prove helpful. No one is a ideal candidate for employment. We all have 'something' which handicaps us from being a perfect choice. It really helps to understand what our own 'roadblocks' are and how to not let that 'handicap' interfere with finding the employment we desire. That is common sense job hunting skills applicable to ALL areas of employment and job hunting.

Finding a job is like a game with it's own set of rules. Play by those rules to increase your ability to find the job you desire. Once you are hired and on a payroll, often times the rules needed to find the job, no longer apply. But, that is not until you are on a payroll. Job hunting 101 for all.

 

Yeah because the recruiters at these companies can see what he looks like through the computer. How bout giving good advice other than putting someone down you know nothing about. Could be why your still a wannabe huh?

 

Try the ones that turned you down after you turn 23. That might be the problem. They'll tell you it's because of "insurance reasons"...
