You don’t have a lot of options when you don’t have money to live on while searching longer; and, also want to take along an 80 lb dog with Rottweiler markings!

70-90k; sorta depends on how much hometime you take.

So tell us what type of offer Freymiller gave you so others are aware.

I make $.50/a loaded mile. They pay a per diem rate on unloaded miles, I think $.1655/mile. We don’t drive much unloaded. They like their drivers to average around 2,700 miles per week. And, it supposedly goes up substantially at finish of year 1, and again at finish of year 2.

There is some provision for detention pay in very specific circumstances (which they sometimes try to avoid by specifying a time window), safety bonuses, and DOT inspection bonus (if pass with no infractions). There may be more bonuses; but, they run you through orientation very quickly. I can’t remember everything.

This is from memory so take it with a grain of salt. I’ve been busy driving, figuring things out, getting my dog back, and trying to organize my truck—as luck would have it (or rather bad luck), the new microwave I bought from Costco for the truck is a lemon—all sound, lights, and fan; but, no heating whatsoever.

As I have time I will go back through all of the paperwork Freymiller gave us. If there are any corrections to what I typed above I will come back to make them.

    nredfor88 Thanks this.

I think that’s a far deal for a new CDL. There will always be higher and lower pay, but as a new driver that’s not a bad place to be.

As long as they are treating you right day to day, respect, fair, etc., it sounds like a good start.
