There's absolutely nothing wrong with swift especially with their increased pay you can definitely make money there , they have 16,000 trucks everybody hates them simply because they are the biggest target.

They said I think I saw something on bar nunn today that they are training students .

Last , if you want to make $60,000 a year right off and be home on weekends with the five day Run pulling doubles I will give you the number to a good friend of mine who has 18 team trucks leased on to FedEx. He hires only ex-military and you could skip all the bull

I agree, flatbed or tanker with hazmat is the fastest route to larger paychecks.

Swift owns Central. Bought them a couple of years ago.

As a former swift driver all I will say is you are promised great miles but hardly break 2k miles in a week. I was sitting more then driving and that's with begging for loads. I think my beat week was 2600 miles. That's my slow week now. The problem when I was there was to many cheifs .

I also have quite a few contacts in ND and AK, so getting my tanker with hazmat would be extremely beneficial. When i start training should i request to get my tanker with hazmat or flatbed? Or will swift strictly just train me on flatbed and then it's up to me for the tanker?

Getting your tanker is just another written test at the DMV.

I dont know what schnieder bulk pays or if they take rookies, but them, ruan, or bulk milk are good places to start.

But honestly, if you want to do it the right way and can afford it, go to community college for your CDL.

I think jMichael is confused about why everyone hates swift. It not because they are a big company. It's because we have them to thank for the csa program and most the other punishments handed to us by congress. Thanks to swift they made everybody's life a living hell in the trucking industry. I remember when the #### hit the fan. Everyone that went to a swift cdl school. Had their cdl suspended. Most never will get them again thanks to swift. The feds came in and shut down shifts cdl schools and fined swift 45 million dollars the first time. Before any of that happened. It was nothing to see swift truck flipped over in the ditch everyday. Most of there Volvo then were multi colored due to the drivers hitting nearly everything on the road. Swift had an average death rate of 6 drivers every 2 months. Plus it was nothing to hear how a swift drive was the cause of one after the other fatality wrecks killing countless innocent motorists on the road. Swift got so bad at one point. That trucking companies wouldn't hire there swift drivers. And swift wasn't and mostly still not seen as experience in trucking. Everybody got nervous when a swift truck came into the truck stop. We new someone truck was going to get hit by the swift driver. I also recall when swift got kicked out of Salinas California for freezing 35 degree loads of produce. Have you heard enough about the truth about swift. And why everyone hates them? To the military man. Some good advice. Use the gi Bill and go to a trucking school in your area. Roadmaster or truck driver institute are a couple of schools trucking companies accept. And then you can decide on a company you want to work for.
