They can force rookies to run team because
They got a foot on thier throats with that contract.
They know they can't force a expierenced driver
To do anything.
We're not living in the truck with another slob.FlaSwampRat and bzinger Thank this. -
Nice poem, but it doesn't rhyme.

The manifold if you have Mr Pyrometer on it should be enough to cook it through in a time. Your nose will know.
You will go through a number of them before you learn.
In my day we used dutch ovens that will take all day to cook a meal. Small whole taters, small onions, ham chopped and some greens such as Brussel sprouts etc. Takes about two of them to cook in cab off the cig lighter. -
Even bad haiku need not rhyme:
Company assignment, team by team
Toaster oven potato delight
All joy is lost, he stinks over it.Last edited: Sep 30, 2019

We can thank amazon for the high demand for teams. Companies that want to get things to customers quickly have been pushing the team thing.
My company pays cents per mile split between us evenly. Making 825 a week min.
Theres a flavor for every taste in this industry though. My company does have some solo runs, reefer and such. They tend to be shorter runs to accommodate the 10 hours you need off every day to sleep. But you decide what you want, and then look for a company that fits your needs.
Benefits of having a team include having a spotter with you so you dont hit things, someone to help you navigate when a road or exit is closed unexpectedly, and company. You can share food, so less gets wasted. You can make longer runs and make more money.
And honestly, you dont spend a lot of time in the company of your co-driver. I spend a lot less time with my hubby now than I did before, because he sleeps when I'm awake and vice versa. 34 resets are when we spend the most time together, but we could choose not to. And when you get a good partner, it can be an awesome thing.tman78, dwells40 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Oh dear....so, why aren't all 3 of them getting in the same truck? Lol smh third world #### for sureFlaSwampRat Thanks this.

My team driver sleeps most of the time. Expects me to do all the driving!
Central_Scrutinizer, autopaint, 2BContinued and 3 others Thank this. -
It depends on what you are doing and who your partner is.
If you are doing some sort of dedicated deal like what I am doing you and your partner will both be awake during the day. Dollar General is another dedicated where drivers are both awake during drops.
I dont use ear plugs because if there is a problem with the reefer or someone knocks on my window, I wanna make sure I can hear it and not just assume my partner will.
Im awake a lot with my partner. Hes alright we have comparable work ethic. We don't hold each other back. But hes young. Hes always telling me dumb crap. Then I say dude, i really dont care. Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. Not even sure what youre trying to say.tman78 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Mmmmmm to a point. It depends on where you live. I know local options out of school were unavailable when I started out. That may have changed now. Its probably better for majority of CDL holders to OTR first. Sometimes you gotta know the right people. You'll never find a shortage of people wanting to run localFlaSwampRat Thanks this.
