    Greeting gurus,
I am a newer O/O of a dump truck and have an opportunity for a "temp" job in CA.

The problem is, I am only registered for IntRAstate operations in OR.
can anyone tell me exactly what all I need to temp. haul in CA for about 2-4 months? (non- resident)

Tried calling CA DMV but cant wait on phone for 2 hrs hold time!!!!! unable to find other info for my situation.
    THANKS!!!

Call the state trucking association, they should be able to help. Do a google search.

You need to be at least 21and you need to register the truck for interstate.

You would need interstate authority along with apportioned registration and an IFTA fuel permit.

If you hold a CDL in another state, it will have to be surrendered for the California one. Within 20 days of moving to California.

    That is totally wrong.
If the OP wants to bring his truck into California on a temporary job he does not need to surrender his driver's license and obtain a California license.
If he establishes a permanent residence in California he'll have to get a California driver's license.

I was after the permanent residency, no thought was given to a jobsite in another state.

Thank you for your assistance in clarifying and actually opening a few doors today.

Does CA still require an intrastate permit?
Try calling OR and asking them what you’ll need. Just guessing that you will need a fuel permit because you don’t have IFTA, you’ll have to update your insurance because you will be leaving OR.
