What is something you hate hearing from a recruiter at a bad trucking company?

Yes sir, it cold as the cold water them drivers may have never touched. I am just busting chops that's all. But you know full well there's them drivers out there that smell like a dead possum baking in the parking lot.

 

Speeewwww!

 

Places that spit out a lot of slogans are a dead give away to me because they have no idea how to run a business. Someone that knows what they are doing has no interest in slogans, aluminum can recycling contests, emailing you every time someone in the office had a birthday etc. When you start hearing the slogans, you know the place runs on leprechaun F4rts and luck.

 

Here's one that really boils my blood: When they use their religion or some veteran status or something to use as leverage so you should be obligated to trust them by default. That is slimey. I do respect veterans, I love GOD, country, all of that but I won't throw it in your face to get you to trust me or do business with me and I expect the same from you. All the time, they say "Our founder served in the military" or "Veteran owned" , Or some bible verse here and there but they are just doing it to gain an advantage. I run the other direction. If someone has to push that stuff to get you to consider doing business with them, I have no confidence in their ability to run a company or do whatever job they are supposed to be doing.

Especially in 2025

 

I love this. I hate the 'team player' rhetoric that so many companies have adopted these days. It's like employers have become so jaded and expect everyone to be social butterflies. I can be social when I need to but if I had my choice 100% of them time I want to work alone, so leave me alone lol
Also, don't treat me like family. Treat me like someone that is working for you in exchange for money.
