I just graduated from Sage on Friday. There class is 150 hours. You'll spend 2 weeks in a classroom going over items such as backing maneuvers, proper turning, Haz-mat, trip planning, etc. They also have a DOT officer come in and go over inspections. The instructor told us about truck stop do's and dont's. They cover filling out log books and cover lumpers. They do cover driver appearance and what will get a DOT cops attention. All the while you have recruiters coming in trying to recruit you. There is a book that has 35 modules in it you must complete all and get at least a 70 to pass the module. (If you got a 70 then god help us all) The final was a 50 question multiple choice test that came from the green federal guidelines book. Not only did you need the correct answer but on a lot of them you had to know the regulation number. Now of course you could use the book, mainly it was done so you knew how to use it.

The driving portion is 11 4 hr segments. These are done 1 on 1 with an instructor. You are taught how to couple/uncouple, straight line backing, off set, and parallel. This is also when you practice your pre-trip, in cab and four point break check. They give you a DVD on day one that covers what they want you to do. Your first 3 driving times are on the range then they are off set range and street time till your complete. You'll learn about RR crossings, overpasses, proper turning and merging and everyone's favorite double clutching. The entire course is 6 weeks.

I know there are many CDL mills out there but I don't feel Sage is one of them.

    See yall around.
