I've spent plenty of time in lots of trucks, and the only one that holds up to rough roads and heavy industrial work better than a Pete or kenworth is a Mack. There's a reason volvos and freightliners aren't popular in those industries, they simply don't hold up.
What is the attraction with peterbilts

Lets face it boys Peterbilt Harley Davidson John Deere Caterpillar and Great Dane unless you are in Nebraska then it is Timpte or Wilson (Hoppers) in that order. All this form a guy that runs a cabover Frieghtliner and pulls a Transcraft trailer.

Durability, for starters, do you know of another 20 yr old truck selling for $45,000 they stay together and hold there value. Nothing better than driving down the road in a ex hood 379 unless you have been blessed with a 359 pete.
Dexterr, BeN DaViS, TwinStickPeterbilt and 2 others Thank this. -
Hell you almost never see a 20 year old freightliner or Volvo outside a scrap yard lol
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
Peterbilt is the top of the truck line ! Most quality available in any truck & the clincher is when you sell it or trade it in much higher trade in value ! Trade-in value means alot when purchasing another truck , if you do not believe it , ask any Peterbilt owner !!!

Guys, stop dumping on Freightliner, yes, the Body is mostly plastic, metal and fiberglass but its for the fuel milage of todays trucking! I love my Century S60 Detroit.

It is truly amazing how brand loyalty works. Especially when you consider that after you get past the body and paint, all the parts are made by someone else. And how a truck, regardless of brand, holds up is how it was spec'd to begin with and how it is taken care of. I have seen great trucks from all brands, and I have seen some really trashed trucks from all brands. And there is a lot more to look at behind the scenes on longevity. Most Pete's (especially classic big nose variety) are small fleet to single owner kind of trucks. Whereas the Freightliners and Internationals are more often than not, part of the big fleet scene, where maintenance is minimal and drivers turn over every other week. If you see one owner FL's and Internationals that have extensive time on them, they are usually in pretty good shape.
It is nothing more than a Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge debate. Just like some farmers will only have a green tractor with a deer running across the hood. Some people are fixated on a red oval on a truck.willardskillard, enicolasy, road_runner and 4 others Thank this. -
Read the reviews on the new Pete's , their built quality has gone to poop! They rested on name and everybody else past by.

Anybody that thinks all trucks are the same has never driven an internatonal for 5 years. Rattle trap.
