What I don't get is, why are they called "large cars" when you have to get out to change your mind? Lol.
I do get the "looks" thing, and in my younger days I had the "large car" and the Harley's, but now I'm a "function over form" kinda guy. I want my bike to get me there, and home, with NO drama or pickup trucks involved, so I have kawasaki's although now a Victory has crept into my garage, ( they are way better engineered than Harley) if it is as dependable as it rides and handles, the Kawasaki May go away, and that's saying a lot....... As far as my truck, I've had em all, cats and Pete's are indeed like Harley's, there is a premium to be paid just for the name and the "cool" factor, I'm just past it all, it don't empress me anymore. My Volvo is so far superior in, handling, room, comfort, storage, and fuel mileage, and mine is a full boat load 780, so price wise it was handy the 389 world, but space and handling, plus the fact the Volvo drivetrain is the most reliable in the last few years sold me.
Now that all said, I love the looks of a long low 379, just like I love the looks of an old Indian Chief, problem is they both belong Ina museum now days.

If I see another Classic truck I will puke. My first love. My FLD 120 drove like a go kart. My T2000 Now that's a truck. Is it windy outside ? 8 bag air ride SMOOTHE. 6nz CAT.. ? Ha it's got one.You know what I likes about the Petes ? Leg room. Gimme mono chrome aerodynamics NOW.

Look at these pictures and let your mind loose for a second:

Comparing those trucks is like comparing a Corvette with a Hyundai Elantra. Yes, the Hyundai gets better fuel economy, is cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, costs less to mantain. Yes, on paper seems like the reasonable choice for a responsible adult. But do you really wake up and say "YES! I can't wait to drive my Elantra this sunday morning, it will be a special experience!". No! and the same goes for a Cascadia or any similar truck. They are tools, appliances, they get the job done and very little else. Full of gray plastics and cheap vinyl. No sense of style or identity, you put them all side by side and my grandmother wouldn't tell them apart.

Some people may consider it ridiculous to spend vast amount of money unnecessarily and they might have a point. But to others the little things matter a lot.

You can only tell the old trucks apart cause guys have customized them. You think they rolled off the line looking like that? No. They all looked the same as well. Same as the new trucks.

That is true each truck is somewhat a reflection of the owner or driver. But you hardley see the other rigs customized, I can't see a lot of them being restored either. Pete does provide a good platform to start with. I'm sure it will fall to the wayside soon as well.

Wow.... I meant the 379 looked like the other 379. Why would I compare the 2 totally different trucks as far as styling goes?

I don't know. I like the look of long nose petes. Only for the simple reason that they look cool and remind me of when I was a kid and always wanted to drive a truck. Its the same thing as I think cars of the 50/60/70"s just had more style. Sure they weren't as efficient or handle as well or were not as reliable (although that's debatable) but they sure as hell looked cooler! Honestly I cant really even tell many new cars or trucks apart anymore. They all kind of look they same. I think its the same old Harley argument! Some guys ride Harley and some ride Hondas. But secretly all us Honda guys just wish we could afford to ride a Harley. And besides its your money do what ever you want with it. Ill never question how a workin man spends his own dime. He's earned it.

One last thing. I've seen guys with Harley tattoos and I've seen guys with Peterbuilt tattoos. But Ive never seen a guy with a Honda or a Volvo tattoo. (not sure what that means. But just sayin....)

The T2000 I drove, while I liked it, doesn't ride as good as my Pete, ( and it was a well spec'd T2000, just to be fair.) in a hard cross wind, the cab swayed all over and the mirrors pulled on the doors making a terrible wind noise in it.
