what is the best and cheapest internet access solution for a laptop while traveling?

Haven't tried foxfi with my s5 since my unlimited data is on my s3, but have no issues with it on my s3

 

Snowwy it's been a minute sines I played with an android device but when I did I just rooted my phone why half ways.

 

Until you want to do something that the carrier has had locked out. Then you'll need root access to bypass the lockout.

As for FoxFi, it doesn't work on all phones. I have yet to find a phone where ClockworkMod Tether didn't work. However, it's USB tether only, and requires a driver on the host PC.

 

What about that app for tethering not sure of the name but it stared with "P?"

what would you like to do, besides installing different roms. which is why phones get locked.

all the other reasons phones got locked, are no longer valid. as the apps have been redesigned.

BTW. a new bill has been signed into law. no more locking of phones. i didn't read all the details though. it was kind of confusing when it was first posted.

Will they activate "your device"? I seemed to recall somewhere that you could "bring your own device", meaning you could buy one cheap on amazon or ebay then bring it into their service.
