Someone I know, who doesn't want to be identified, wears ear plugs and uses a Blue Parrot B250. The volume is loud enough to overcome road/engine and be heard through ear plugs.
Are you sure the volume on your headset is too low? Driving a truck will cause hearing loss, even though newer trucks are not as loud as older trucks, they are just below the threshold OSHA sets are requiring hearing protection for employees IF EXPOSED TO NOISE 8 HOURS PER DAY. Few if any drivers are only in a running truck 8 hours per day. Every driver should wear ear plugs if they want to hear things later.
When you start to lose hearing you generally first notice the TV/Radio/ etc are not loud enough, then everyone needs to speak up.
What is the best bluetooth headset right now?

I bought a BlueParrot in 08 and it is still working. I have a hook on the dash that I hang it on and only hang it on my head when using it. And never outside the truck.
roshea, Snowshoes and TruckRunner Thank this. -
Before I drove over the road I did local/regional/courier/everything and tried for years to find one with decent noise cancelling and volume. Nothing works as well as a Blue Parrot. I've had a 350 for about 3-4 years now. Battery is so good I just leave the power on when I take it off. I charge it every few days.
Only one complaint and I've been meaning to call them. The earpad likes to move around and come off. I might try gluing it on.
DON'T buy one at a truckstop! Highway robbery like everything else there. Order it on Amazon.Diesel Dave, Snowshoes and JReding Thank this. -
Well put!

I highly recommend this one from Amazon. If you have problems just call Amazon for a replacement. You can also listen to music on it. For $20.00 it’s worth a try. Good noise canceling mic. I’m partially deaf, and it’s loud enough for me.

I had a Roadking that lasted a few years. I went to a BP 350 I had to send it back 4 times in 1 year. I had been using a $25 Amazon unit for the past year it's ok for the price. Now it's my back up. Using a Voyager 104 now. Fingers crossed.

Another vote for Blue Parrot, I use a 250, they work the best and last the longest of all the ones Ive tried.
tscottme Thanks this. -
I got the Road King at Pilot with my "Pilot Points." So far it is a pretty decent set.

Ok most agree with blue parrot. But I have a question about them. I have a 250xt it doesn't work for media (watching tv, movie, video, utube, etc..) My OLD 250 did, is that because I had a cranberry phone or is it the headset? Also what headset is recommended for media, and calls? I would like to have one that does both, instead of one for calls, and head0hones for everything else.
