$50 a month that's all? Just wait until you start getting these new quotes it was a shocker for me!!

Im with geat west now and I know I'm covered for anything coast to coast not just 500 miles from home also they offer towing and a few other things im happy but you can never really tell until you need them!!

Every year I have been in business my ins has gone down,,started years ago at about $11k/YR last time I paid $7200/yr for equipment valued at $250K with $500K cargo ins and a $5K deductible, OOIDA is not a good place to buy Ins,

I find this really hard to believe maybe because of the $5,000 deductible but I seriously doubt with that much cargo and that much stated equipment amount coverage that you're paying that premium

Ive heard there is an ongoing legal dispute between OOIDA and Landstar and thats part of why Landstar wont take their insurance. Also OOIDA has a long list of brokers that wont accept their insurance. I believe its because of OOIDAs insurance rating.. OOIDA is not registered the same as other insurers.

OOIDA is a risk retention group and not a real insurance company. People don't like that.

The re-insurance is Lloyd's of London. VERY highly ......like AA+ AM Best rated.........HOWEVER.......the risk retention pool is NOT rated by AM Best because self insured trusts are not REQUIRED to be.......that's the problem.....not that risk retention groups are inherently evil. The BIG carriers.....self insured.....yah, THEY are risk retention groups too!! LOL

It has nothing to do with the lawsuit. It has to do with the abscence of a rating by AM Best on the risk retention pool. The re-insurance is Lloyd's of London......NOT exactly a fly by night outfit. I will PM you the list of brokers if I still have it.....when I talked to them in July it was 9 brokers that don't accept it.
