What is the best route from Bend,OR to Portland,OR?

Just to update, I ended up taking 20 to 22 and coming into Portland from the south because I only had time for my first 2 drops. 97 from I-84 to Bend took longer than anticipated. I took the southern route because it seemed there were better stopping options that way. I had hoped to make the TA but ended up deciding to stop on a wide spot next to the highway right where it opens up to 4 lane as it was getting late and even though I had time to get to the TA I was not very optimistic about my parking chances at that hour. I think it worked out for the best. I enjoyed a restful, quiet night. The route from Bend to I-5 was a decent enough one. It was pretty mountainous and fairly steep in places. I was glad I was light with all but one of my drops already delivered. Not sure it would be a great route in the winter but this time of year no problems. Thanks again for everyone's help!

 

Hwy 22 from 97 to I-5 is my favorite route to take from Bend to PDX or vise versa. Taking 26 to PDX dumps you into Gresham and E. Portland and too many lights. Hwy 22 to I-5 is freeway all the way and a much prettier, more enjoyable pass.
