I just finished up school with Central, and I really enjoyed it. All the instructors are very good at what they do and so far the company seems good to the drivers. I will know more in a few weeks (leaving with a trainer this week for 28 days) but that's just my .2cbeboppinbigun1 Thanks this.

thanks spinner i look forward to hearing your experiances -
I spoke to a Schneider recruiter and she said they're not hiring anybody with less than 6mos. exp. I gotta check out Central. I need to get back in the game myself and I'm looking for the best one I can get into. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth, Knights training division, "Squire", doesn't require trainees to run as a team with their trainer. You do the driving and he sits in the right seat.
JustSonny and beboppinbigun1 Thank this. -
Knight, huh? I may look into them. Let us know how they are as the months go by.

i have narrowed my choices at this point to central or May just depends on if i can get pell grant/ financing for the local comm. collegae here if so i will probably try for may if not then central looks like my best bet. would prefer to go to scholl here as i can stay at home untill finished with the school. but will not be able to do anything untill first of year regardless. so will keep researching untill then.

What type of contracts did Central require you to sign? I have asked all of the schools to forward me the contracts that will be signed, and only Steven's did.

Your local community college...that way you are beholden to no one.
if money is you issue, then apply for scholarships or go to your local unemployment office and the taxpayers of your great state will very likely pay the freight for you (pun intended).
Every opinion is different...some people can be pooped on and think it's the best experience they've had.
The community college programs will very likely not let you down. -
I just got off the telephone with Knight. You have to already have your CDL from a school, and then you can sign on with Squire to get your over the road experience.
From there, you can sign on with Knight.
