Yes, I was making 1.55 per hour after dropping out of high school to seek my fame and fortune. I later corrected this with a GED and some college.
And your post made me realize how much I have lost since those days. My hair was so thick I had to use a brush not a comb. Now I can just smooth those 20 hairs on top of my head with my hand!

There's better times ahead if I can make this transition. I see a lot of good advice on this site. I also see the warnings so I think I'm armed to make some sounds decisions going forward. I'll kick the job hunt into high gear near the end of the year. In the meantime there's homework and research to do.
It's good to know there's folks out there that know the tricks of the trade and are willing to share how to do the right thing and avoid as many mistakes as possible. This site seems to be full of good people and you're one of those folks Big John. I'll let you now how the job hunts progresses. Take care. -
Thank you, Sir. I do try to help as much as I can. There are many ole hands on here that are much smarter than me. It is a great forum and many are willing to help.

I did a lot of research regarding trucking school or company sponsored.
I find the best way is a private trucking school then you are in a better position as to whom you would like to work for.
Once you are with a company thy will put you with a trainer driver so that you can gain on the road skills.
