My transcraft loaded with a big coil reminded me of a pregnant cow. The belly swayed depending on the way you was turning or moving...lol

Probably the best riding trailer I ever owned. Had the 230 suspension and with the trailer having give to it, it was nice!

No, the East we just had done (at Mac Lol) almost got one steerable but decided not to.

I assumed since you were wearing the dress in public it was ok to tell.:biggrin_2559:
I'm not knocking your decision, I mean do whatever you have to do to feel sexy.

    You ain't exactly a flatbedder though Les... :biggrin_25523: You're a "special trucker" :biggrin_25523:
Hauling single coils everyday and being overweight just makes you more specialized... :biggrin_25523:

A heavy-duty trailer with cats back arch is necessary for
making big $bucks$ hauling coils in the rust belt,
but your equipment gets the "extreme" ####tyend of the stick...

Normally the flatbed loads are spread out over the trailer or double stacked and having alot of arch blows...
Like when your loading lumber, pipe etc. and having to stack crossties on the ends to level it out...

You've probably seen this happen before where some driver didn't give a shhittt and had lumber falling out both ends... :biggrin_25523:

Hey, I haven't hauled a single coil in a long time, its been more than one...:biggrin_25522:. All I'm saying is there shouldn't be a trailer built that can't handle at least a 65k coil. You don't need all that arch to do it. IIRC, you can get a MAC with only a 3" arch?

Almost forgot! Smart flatbedders have a sidekit... and don't haul lumber...:biggrin_25525::biggrin_2559:

    359kool Thanks this.

Yeah I hear you Les, I'm saying that most all the new trailers are built to light nowadays... Since the chinese took over hauling coils once in a while for brokers here and there like I used to do is not worth keeping a set of coil racks in your box anymore...

I think railroad ties even pay better now... I won't haul them either but it's not because I'm afraid of breaking my trailer down...
What I'm gettin at is except for guys like you that haul coils almost exclusively, it's not a big deal like it used to be even in the rust belt --- When buying a trailer nowdays a person should decide whether to haul coils or not because most trailers are built to light anymore...

A good coil trailer is all aluminum nowdays because of the weight game so naturally the price is gonna be quite a bit higher... I bet there ain't a combo flat being made that would last very long hauling 65k coils across ohio and michigan everday... If there is I haven't see one... Mostly reitnouers and macs I see hauling coils... The combo's and other aluminum trailers like benson are hauling general freight like they should be...

I got a fontaine renegade and it's fine for what I haul... But--- I wouldn't get anywhere around it with a 65k coil sitting out in the middle where 10 yrs ago I'd put a big single on one of their trailers and not think twice about it...

Ok, I'm looking in the $15,000 and under used category. I can't afford any more than that cuz my credit is now screwed and I have to pay cash. I havn't ever hauled over 48,000lbs. I have hauled coils, but never a single coil. I have an 07 Fontaine infinity sx right now and never had a problem with it but the lease is up and I want to buy my own. Been looking on truck paper, if anyone knows of any other place to look please let me know. Thanks for all your input.
