I don't mean restricted A as in cannot drive anything A over something like that it's just that most anyone running anything usually has a full A CDL anyhow.Usually. Not always. With the exception of our esteemed northern Maryland yankees who consider those who apply to run Class B with Class A over qualified.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
The truck can weigh anything. The trailer can weigh no more than 10k.
Examples: class b with passenger endorsement, you can drive 25, 50, 100 morbidly obese passengers. You can't do that if they're in a trailer.
You have a box truck, put as much in as you can. If you need more room, your trailer can't weigh more than 10k
If you want to pull a heavy trailer, get a class A.
Another Canadian driver and x1Heavy Thank this. -

*Quickly calculates the net cargo... 40,000 pounds? Plus maybe 10 or more thousand?
You will not longer be driving a bus, you would be driving a very tall mr tippy at those weights. HA...Another Canadian driver and Bean Jr. Thank this. -

Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Cargo capacity the the difference of the two.
There is no actual limit of the tractor on class B license, it's all up to the state. I've seen class B trucks weigh in at 100,000 lbs (cranes). Most are limited by the national 80k limit on interstates though.Another Canadian driver and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
This thread and this nonsense is why good drivers are still just labeled as Dumb F...in Truck driver.Another Canadian driver and Todd727 Thank this. -
