Find a truck leasing agency.. compare it to another... and another. Most repeatable ones will want you to show proof that you're signed on with a carrier and show earning potential. They want to get paid; you do too.

Darknesses.. My guess is your looking to calculate the cost of the truck alone and is this including you're avg settlement statement to the biz for you, or to a company that files and you're leased onto? I'd say you might have some cash saved and a Driver I recently spoke with told me with $10k down, they were able to get the base payment of the truck to $2,150. My guess on that situation - New Lease. Used... likely to be closer to $1,200 with, probably, a min. down (10%?). That doesn't include the lawyers and unemployment/disability insurance, or IFTA, not even spare parts - although some deals come with 'bumper - to - bumper' coverage and etc. Cost is a very broad stroke when it comes to owning a building, and running a biz; the same is true for a IND o/o or a lease Driver.

Way back then it wasn't called lease purchase. But after the last lease payment, you gave them a dollar and OWNED the truck. Also way back then you could pay off the truck AT ANY TIME. I remember several guys taking there prime truck to freightliner in Ohio, and trading them in.

But maybe your right and "FREIGHT" companies were ripping drivers off way back then.
Also I assumed he was talking about lease purchase. (Ya I no about assumptions)
