No kidding, I have to say you were the one the inspired me to go with Schneider. Your videos and just the things you have said about the company really put me towards Schneider. I have to say I am shocked you replied. I understand that every job has it's ups and downs but it is what you make of it. If you go into this with a good attitude and the right mindset and a supportive family it should be good. With my retirement check apprenticeship pay and the check from Schneider I should be good. Just really don't know where to go. North or South, Bama or Wisconsin. Missouri or Oklahoma. Tuff choices coming my way. After wearing a uniform for 24+ years I can't wait to get out, work for Schneider and wear sweat pants and flip flops!!!! LOL
What is the deal with Schneider pay when you get into trucking?

SFC Shirley,
Let me know how things work out for you. I'll be getting out shortly myself and I'm looking to get back into trucking. I'm a fueler (92F) right now and I'm looking at hauling tankers so I'm hoping that it will be a smooth transition. Like you, I too have done some research and I am looking at Schneider's tanker division as one of the possibilities when I do finally get out. One of my former Soldiers has been driving for them for about a year or so and he loves it. I'm also looking at trying to get on with one of the KAG companies. My Brother has been driving for DistTech for about twelve years and speaks very highly of KAG group overall. I've had my CDL (XT) since '99 so I won't have to go through the entire process, but it's been so long that I'm sure I'll have to go through some sort of remedial training. Please keep me advised of any problems or recommendations you may have concerning re-entering civilian life.
Drive safe!

New here. I went to both links and after reading them was unable to decipher what information made you think he was a SNI recruiter. Would appreciate your point of view. Always like to learn new things.e7shirleym Thanks this. -

I just started with Schneider Intermodal on their regional runs about a month ago. I had 3 months previous experience running flatbeds OTR. Schneider from the start has offered everything that was promised to me. I think a lot of people look at the mileage pay and say well they pay the least per mile. Its not all about the mileage pay. What good is it to you if you are making .50 cents a mile but the company only gives you 1200 miles a week. I feel like Schneider's pay package is outstanding! I get short haul pay, live load, break down, decent mile pay, and lots of freight. I think a lot of the people that are on here talking bad about Schneider either never worked for them, or they had a bad experience with a certain employee or two. As far as the company goes I think they are a class act. I will be staying here for as long as they are willing to keep me.

Thanks Ike, I go the idea of dedicated from your videos. It sounds like it will fit my family life better then being out a year at a time (only kidding, been doing that for a long time with deployments). You place a pretty good argument out there for the best way to go is dedicated. It sounds like a pretty good fit for the family and I. I also understand that you are a very busy person. What you do with your video's or driving and the ballance of family time plus add to that a bunch of wanna be truckers like myself asking questions I never faulted you for no response. It is all good and I wish the best for you and the family.

A while back I posted on this forum and you sent a reply saying that I was a phony and a recruiter. Kind of shock as I am going through some of my posts and came across this. If there is one thing I get offended by is when someone questions my integrity and in my eyes that isw what you did. I understand people can do background searches on anyone. I understand that you did come across my picture, some of my family members but at no time did you come across anything that suggested that I was in the industry or working for Schneider. My mission after the military is to join Schneider and try to stay with them as long as I can drive. I am a one team person. I have been in the military for over 24 years and by the time I get out which should be 16 June 2015 I will almost be at 25 years.
Just in the future maybe instead of posting on a open forum send a private message and go from there. It is pretty bad when you call someone out in the open forum like you did!!!
