What is the demand for truck drivers right now, during the pandemic? Are they hiring?

We consider ourselves infected. The body is undergoing certain spikes in problems that are unknown before in life experience however easily recognized as any number of C19 symptoms.

We lost a 35 year old the other day in White county, she was very healthy and strong as a ox. Special transitional type person who has had nothing but good things to live for.

DEAD. And so she is the first one here. We are only about 24 or so infected here but 2900 tested postive, 30 or so on ventilators, 900 recovered, 600 prisoners infected, about a running total of 80 in the hospital.
    \
We are testing 1500 daily by antibodies and two plasma donation centers are going full out. In addition to seeking out those who are hot infected with Covid19 so we can quaraintine or hospitalize them.

PArt of the problem is they do not call for help until they fall down on the living room floor. By then its a foregone conclusion.

I do like making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I am one of those who only have a one track mind for the worse case scenario and then fix it before we get to that point if possible. If things are going well then hey, its a good day.

Not driving now. Have no experience other than about 6 weeks of forklift training, 2 weeks full time truck training in lot with doubles/singles and some city driving with instructor daily.

Every truck stop this week has been full , most drivers sitting waiting for loads . Local LtL driver told me he was down to 3 days a week . Might be some outfits with essentials freight contracts but idk .

If you don’t mind a reefer unit lulling you to sleep every night, there’s plenty of work available. When the pandemic first hit, we got incredibly busy after the first wave of panic buying. Had a few slow weeks last month, but so far this month I haven’t had a week under 2800 miles. Finished off this week today with just over 4000(got my first “critical relief” load). My company is still hiring through this, but they normally have a waiting list to get with a trainer.
