What is the demand for truck drivers right now, during the pandemic? Are they hiring?

Trucking is like McDonald's...always hiring.Especially in flatbedding.

 

I'm a local milk hauler driving tractor trailer tanker. It's a day cab and home daily. So far I've not lost any work, working everyday.... I'm not getting as many side loads though. The transport guys doing longer haul work are getting mixed schedules so the end up with some of my side loads. Everything is good for me now cant complain.

I'm worried about the future. The bottom has fallen out of the milk price. Long term future might not be great for dairy farms.

 

Especially if youll scoop out the fryolator crud for minimum wage.

 

Not sure what you haul, but my company, which hauls corrugated, mostly I/P products, is based in Chicago, and I run Ohio regional. We are ALWAYS hiring, seasoned hands...home daily, off weekends, and essential. They've been known to take guys w/6 months experience with no dings, however. I make as much as LTL, and I'm essential...working weekends even, lately.
