What is the difference between Regional and Dedicated Routes?

Dedicated = specific customer.
Regional = specific area.

 

If you run regional with one of the larger carriers you will travel outside that region if the freight dictates that. They use regional as a guide for the majority of loads. I ran SE Region for JBH and was in Ohio, Penn, NJ, OK..

 

Commercial vehicle should always follow a dedicated route. Sometimes they may get delayed but chances are very rare as compare to regional routes. Normally individuals take regional routes so it will be always advisable to commercial vehicle to follow dedicated route.

 

My husband is working for covenant transport out of Chattanooga, Tennessee and we live in Pace, Florida and he has an interview for becoming a dedicated driver tomorrow.. What should I be expecting? I am 25 weeks pregnant and our ultimate goal is for my husband to be home as much and as often as possible, is he heading in the right direction to being home every night (or at least on weekends) with this interview for dedicated driver position? If not, what are some pointers that can be given to get him home as long and often as possible while still making enough money to pay bills and have our family? Help please. Thank you in advance for any help, pointers, advice, anything at all.
