Hey I been a OTR company driver for about a year now and I'm looking to transition to the O/O route. Doing research it seem that a peterbilt 379 (EXHD preferably) with a CAT engine is the best way to go in my opinion. My question is how much horsepower is enough. I don't want to get one with too much horsepower or too little. If I plan on doing reefer or dry van (flat bed and car hauling isn't an option) how much horse power is enough? 475?
What is the Ideal Peterbilt for a wanna-be O/O

The best is one that has no payments.
Cat may not be the best choice, but many love that yellow paint and have never driven a real cat, like a 1693, or 3406b.
Never can have too much horsepower.Terry270, exhausted379, Dominick253 and 11 others Thank this. -

Honestly a aero truck would be better like a kw 600/660 or a pete 386
