I see we have been trucking about the same length of time. I never shut my CB off. I keep it on in hopes that if there are problems in front of me someone will let me know. In turn i let the people on the other side of the median know if they are going to be running into some kind of a problem. It is my opinion that a big part of our problems today as truckers, is the fact there is no unity among us today. In my eyes it is a lack of concern for your fellow man. It is all about me! I admit there is a lot of crap I do not want to hear. But I will sort through the crap in an effort to help myself and others.
What is the quietest truck on the market today?

What's telling here is that any Volvo off the assembly line has good insulation standard whereas every other make it has to be special ordered or DIY to make the cab like it ought to have been in the first place.

Just went from a 900000 mile Columbia to a new cascadia. Biggest difference is how quite the cascadia is.

Here in oz,we run roadtrains and they are mainly Kenny's or Pete's with cummins 565,these newer trucks are much quieter than the old trucks although the mx engined ones are quieter still,in the us,conventionasl are considered to be quieter than cab overs, but here in in oz we are running european trucks as well, which are all cabovers, like m.a.n,daf,volvo,mercedes,and scania and they are really quiet compared to us built trucks,I recently drove a scania which had a v8,730 hp engine and even hauling 120 ton roadtrain this thing was relentlessly smooth with effortless awesome power and made even the latest Kenworths and Pete's feel like old dynosours and when cruising at 65moh it was as quiet as any luxury car like mercedes s class, this makes any day much more relaxing ,also european truck cabs seem to have better build qaulity than there American rivals in that even with with a million miles on then they dont have any irritating cab squeaks and rattles,

I snapped this from a fellows youtube page, he was doing a bunk heater install. It's a cascadia, expeditor truck, with a big bunk. The underneath looks like any other truck, but its spray foamed? Has anybody any ideas what spray foam? And how it lasts? I asked the guy a question but he didnt answer. Anybody else seen this yet?
This may be my next project.

I think the reason nobody does that is because moisture will inevitably get trapped between the foam and body and rust out quick. Same reason regular cars don't have it.

All modern trucks are quiet. They spend most of their time in the shop
